[International Exchanges and Visits]Canadian Delegation Visits Ministry of Justice to Discuss GCTF Cooperation, Transnational Repression, and Transfer of Sentenced Persons

A Canadian delegation led by Mr. Sébastien Aubertin-Giguère, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister and National Counter Foreign Interference Coordinator at Public Safety Canada, and accompanied by Ms. Marie-Louise Hannan, Executive Director of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, visited the Ministry of Justice on June 25, 2026. Deputy Minister Huang Mou-Hsin received the delegation on behalf of the Ministry. Also in attendance were Director-General Michelle Yu-Mei Meng, Deputy Director-General Adam Hsieh-Chan Wu, and Prosecutor Julie Pei-Ju Wang of the Department of International and Cross-Strait Legal Affairs, as well as Head Prosecutor Geng-Cheng Guo of the Department of Prosecutorial Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the “Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop on Building Resilient Democracies: Responding to Transnational Repression,” jointly organized by the MOJ and the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, as well as on important issues such as transnational repression and the transfer of sentenced persons.
