The Ministry of Justice and 15 other ministries have joined the Global CAPE to facilitate cross-border cooperation in the enforcement of Data Protection and Privacy Laws with international partners

To enhance the protection of individuals’ personal data, the Ministry of Justice and 15 other ministries, namely the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education,  the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the National Science and Technology Council, the Financial Supervisory Commission, the Public Construction Commission, the Fair Trade Commission and the National Communications Commission, have joined Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (Global CAPE). In March, 2024, notice of the verification and approval of the application was received from the administrator of the Global CAPE—the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. In the future, enhanced cross-border cooperation in the enforcement of Data Protection and Privacy Laws with international partners can be expected as a result of this agreement, better protecting of Taiwanese people's personal data.
