Joint auctions prior to Father’s Day net NT$78 million for the government. The AEA branches across the country held joint auctions on Aug 7th, attracting crowds to join in the bidding. Real estate and movable properties auctioned off this time fetched over NT$78.7 million. Real estate items auctioned off included: Lots of land and buildings in Bade District, Taoyuan City, which the Taoyuan branch auctioned off for over NT$44,290,000; lots of land and buildings in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, which the Chiayi branch auctioned off for over NT$13,830,000; lots of land and buildings in East District, Taichung City, which the Taichung branch auctioned off for over NT$8,660,000; lots of land and buildings in Nantou County that the Changhua branch auctioned off for over NT$5,740,000; lots of land in Xinyin District, Taipei City, which the Taipei branch auctioned off for over NT$1,570,000. Real estate items auctioned off fetched over NT$75,640,000, marking a brilliant record. In addition, movable properties auctioned off by the AEA branches across the country reached NT$3.06 million. The Taipei branch auctioned off name brand sunglasses, perfumes, coral ornaments and Kinmen Kaoliang liquor for over NT$940,000. The Kaohsiung branch auctioned off cars of various kinds for over NT$860,000. The Tainan branch auctioned off cars of various kinds and share certificates for over NT$640,000. Items offered for sale by other branches included scooters, jade articles, share certificates, teapots, imported liquor/wine and many others. People participating in the auctions were happy about the bargain sales. The auctions also helped the government secure outstanding taxes and fees.
